The Spitalford Cemetery Memorial Dedication
July 24th 1921
The Spitalford Memorial was dedicated on July 24th 1921 by the Vicar of Embleton and an address was given by Viscount Grey of Falloden. Note that the end of the war is given as 1919. Although hostilities in Europe ceased on Armistice Day, November 11th 1918, the formal end of the war is sometimes regarded as the Treaty of Versailles, June 28th 1919.
